Lamitex Integrated Policy for Occupational Health and Safety and the Environment
Since its founding, LAMITEX S.p.A. has adopted an operating model based on sustainability and innovation, starting with its proprietary CLPL® technology. This approach ensures the production of decorative laminates free of pollutants, particularly formaldehyde, through the use of materials, machinery, and methods that continuously improve environmental impact and workplace quality. This Integrated Policy defines our holistic and collaborative commitment to continuous improvement of corporate performance, in accordance with the ISO UNI EN 45001:2023 (Occupational Health and Safety) and UNI EN ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management) certifications.
- Commitment to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)
Lamitex considers the protection of the Health and Safety of workers a fundamental pillar of sustainability. While recognizing that zero risk is not achievable, the primary goal is to minimize all types of injuries.
To this end, Lamitex is committed to:
- Collaborative and Organizational Approach: Promoting cooperation between the Company, Workers, and the OHS management structure (Employer – DL, Safety Manager – RSPP, Workers’ Safety Representative – RLS, Competent Physician – MC, Assistant Safety Manager – ASPP, and Safety Supervisors).
- Compliance and Prevention: Ensuring a healthy and safe workplace, guaranteeing strict compliance with legal requirements, current regulations, and other subscribed requirements.
- Hierarchical Risk Management: Managing and maintaining the risks of activities and production processes at an acceptable level. The risk reduction strategy follows a strict order: elimination, substitution of the risk with a lesser one, redesign, training, and, only as a last resort, the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Safety Culture: Actively promoting the dissemination of an OHS culture and the involvement of all personnel through adequate training and information.
- Participation and Consultation: Ensuring the involvement and consultation of workers, also through the Workers’ Safety Representative (RLS).
- Commitment to Sustainability and the Environment
Lamitex believes in and consciously adheres to the principles of sustainable development, with the aim of securing a future for the next generations and combating climate change.
The Company is committed to:
- Eco-sustainable Raw Materials: Making its products eco-sustainable, also through FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification, promoting the responsible use of forest resources.
- Pollution Prevention: Committing to the reduction and proper management of waste, reducing energy and water consumption, and minimizing atmospheric pollution production.
- Eco-sustainable Innovation: Utilizing CLPL® technology, which guarantees low energy consumption and a low environmental impact by not using melamine and/or phenolic resins.
- Energy Efficiency: Using renewable resources and new technologies to reduce energy consumption and promote independence from fossil fuels (e.g., installation of photovoltaic systems).
- Circular Economy: Implementing the purchase and use of recycled material for packaging (e.g., strapping 100%, stretch film 90%, cardboard cores 100%, pallets 50%).
- Climate Mitigation: Actively contributing, also through the planting of new trees (Lamitex grove), to seeking to mitigate/counteract climate change.
- Minimization of Waste: Carrying out production with specific and measurable programs for the minimization of waste and for product recycling.
- Integrated Objectives and Governance
This unified Policy serves as a reference framework for the entire organization, ensuring that all management systems operate in synergy to achieve common goals.
Lamitex intends to:
- Reporting and Dissemination: Ensure that the Policy is made available and disseminated to all interested parties and periodically reviewed together with the implemented Management Systems.
- Resources and Competence: Provide prepared human resources, increasing know-how competence, and material resources (machinery, equipment, infrastructure) through training to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Management Systems.
